There’s a lot of assumptions baked into this conclusion…you’re assuming that not taking the lamp-bot’s words personally had something to do with the power dynamic but it could have had something to do with the fact that this was a scripted exercise with a machine that didn’t really have any power or agency or control. ln self-driving car studies, where the machine and the person have equal agency, this insight isn’t true and in fact it’s quite the opposite.
